End (of) Februrary!

dress - old navy ♥ belt - forever 21
tights - not sure ♥ shoes - payless

Our school sent out an email last night saying they we have exceeded our normal allotted snow amount - "and we are expecting more!" Thank goodness, it only rained all night instead of snowing! I'd much rather having the feeling of living in Seattle compare to the tundra of the Antarctica. Rain brings spring, and amongst the mud and little piles of snow, I noticed grass and flowering are starting to grow! Please, no more snow!

So I prepared for rain, but it turns out to be just a lovely spring day. My dress is new. Chambray is the new denim shirt, so I bought this one from Old Navy, and I'm not sure how a 'drop waist' dress is suppose to wear, and I wish I could just pull the tie out. Tieka inspired me for this ensemble. I can't help it! When I see her style her clothes - I think, I have something like that in my closet!! I can reciprocate! I have all the workings of an amazing wardrobe, just no idea how to wear it all. Ugh. But I've started a File called "INSPIRE ME!" of girl's outfit posts I see and try to use it as a basis for my outfit.

I had a great weekend with Jay. He is absolutely amazing. There's this picture of us at a party, in the background of a shot of some friends, and we're just holding each others faces, hehe. It's so adorable, and candid, and us. We're a great team. We celebrated our 22 Mensiversary (Month Anniversary) on Saturday with a bang. I love him so much.

P.S. I am so bad at getting my full body in the shot. You can't see the bun on my head or my shoes. Ack. I'll get better, I swear...

So sorry that my pictures suck. I'm working with a timer, without flash, and propping it up on weird things. Need. A. Tripod. But instead, I buy other things...like these shoes! They came in the mail today, and I am so excited to finally own a pair of Jefferey Campbell shoes! For under $40 - which, I see why. They aren't great, but they aren't awful. One reviewer described them as "sexy witch," which I'll take...

School has been really difficult lately. My last senior semester is proving to be more work than I'd like - and it's all seeming very pointless. I have an interview with a great medical group here, for an internship this summer that pays about $15/hr. It would be a PR and Publication internship, that would open a lot of doors. I just have no drive whatsoever. But eh, here's hoping....

Oh, and on a final note - 10 Calorie Jell-O is amazing! It has turned into my candy fix. Which is good - I stepped on a scale the other day - and I've lost 9-10ish pounds! (Always varies...let's say 10!) Only 15 more to go :) But I'm feeling great body-wise. And I feel a cold coming on. I need a beach and warm weather - STAT! ...Spring Break can't come soon enough.

I Got You Babe

black long sleeve - old navy ♥ cable-knit sweater - mac & jac ♥ skirt - urban outfitters &heart; tights - unsure? ♥ boots - aldo

So I'm not getting picture-taking down. I need to borrow my sister's tripod, and not use books or my mantle. Also my setting SUCKS but my apartment is so crowded, I'd look insane outside. Besides, have ya'll in the Midwest been experiencing some snow? I was so looking forward to spring (flowers, cough) and it just dumped a whole load of white slushy cold stuff! Ugh! But Spring Break is 5 weeks away...

...Oh my goodness, my last school Spring Break ever! (If I don't go to grad school...) That is so insane to think about. I look forward to summer vacation and all the school breaks - I'll die when I have a full time job and have limited vacations! And I've been going to school for over 19 years of my life...that is just too crazy to think about today.

Halfway through the week! I had a really horrible first part of the week, got incredibly sick on Monday and spent the whole day in bed. I'm still recovering... But planning on making a nice dinner for Jay tonight - maybe I'll post pics and the recipe like Jen Love Kev! I love to cook but don't have a lot of time/money/energy to ever make anything spectacular, and besides, I'm a college student. So I try to provide nutrition with easy recipes and easy ingredients. Haha, I sound like a commercial!

Still, something to look forward to. I'd also love a new blog layout....homework in there too.

P.S. Couldn't sleep last night and just had to buy these little babies at 4 am!

Goals on Groundhog Day

StripesFeb2-2

StripesFeb2

striped shirt - gapblack dress - target
tights - wet seal
boots - steve by steve madden

I only take photos of my outfit when I'm wearing florals. Hmm...wonder what that translates to...I think it's because I thinking Spring Spring Spring and since that damn little groundhog saw his shadow, 6 more weeks.

Okay - so I've decided that I need to start slow with a blog. Not only do I need to remind myself to update regularly, but to take pictures (my camera is awful - but didn't everyone start out that way?), and make and honest effort to catalog my life....

That's my main motivation, because I was looking at Tieka's blog and noticed she's been blogging since 2006! (Hey, its on her archives...) And that is four years ago...just imagine being able to look back, thanks to the technology we have, and see/read how you felt that day, week, ...years!

Also, my photos won't be like the ones on other blogs because:
1. I don't have a good camera, tripod, or photographer
2. This is my blog
3. You have to get your poses just right...

So, here's my outfit I wore today. I substituted the black dress for a gray, high waisted skirt for my improv rehearsal, and it looked much better...But, alas, my pics were taken with the dress...

Also - most of the girls who do fashion blogs are very very skinny! I'm looking at them, thinking that their clothes look amazing on them, and then I try to emulate on my own...and it looks completely not what I thought. And the pictures make it worse, more apparent. I feel like I've been dieting for the past two years, exercising about 3-4 times a week, and I don't see any results... I'm hoping I'll wake up one day and it will all be melted away. Le sigh.

....**I'm in a huge funk lately. A funk lasting over a week. I need change, or something amazing to happen.

Waiting for the Sun

I feel like I am begging for Spring to come. Monday, it snowed all day long, creating a huge mess of fluffy snow. Luckily, I had some snow boots. But I am so-over the gray days. So I'll wear flowers to feel Springy.

t-shirt - urban outfitters ♥ turtleneck - lands end jeans - old navy
boots - vintage snowboots
hat - old navy mens, far too big

You don't even wanna know what it took for these silly pictures. Haha, a better set up would probably result in more/better/way better postings...

The other day my mom came down from home in Indy to visit me before my classes, and we had lunch in town at Finch's Brasserie and right next door is Indiana's only Urban Outfitters! Finch's hadn't open yet (it was 11am!) so mom and I popped inside. All the sudden she was like, "I'll buy that for you, and that, and that..." and I walked away with a new coat, and three new spring tops - including this one! I'm so excited about the florals and zippers and lace and creme looks this spring! I'm trying to keep it winter-y by adding dark pieces. I'm trying to figure this whole 'style' thing out. :)

Welcome

Hello! My name is Sara and I am starting a blog. I've been following several girls for months now, and have been inspired enough to start this on my own. I have no idea what is to come of such, maybe just a place to compile ramblings, thoughts, photos, days...

As for me, I am a student in college in the Midwest. I have lived in this part of the world all my life, and can't wait for that to no longer be the case. For a stint, I lived in New York City with my amazing boyfriend. His name is Jay* and has seriously become the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

I've always admired style and those who push the envelope, and I was heavily involved with the 2006 season of Project Runway. (Meaning: Just watched the shit out of it).

I will post when I can, and will be shocked if this becomes anything more interesting to others than myself. I plan on being honest, crude, funny, and intriguing. Enough said. LET'S DO THIS.
